(Over the next few weeks, WMEB Sports will preview the new Men’s Ice Hockey class, featuring some of the top prospects coming to Orono this school year.)

In just under three months, the University of Maine Men’s Ice Hockey team will begin play yet again, this season with eight new freshmen joining the squad.

With names like Abbott, Flynn, Mangene, and O’Neill all departing for the pros, Maine has some restocking to do. Since the previous season, the Black Bears have lost 52 percent of their scoring – 48 percent coming from the aforementioned skaters. Many around Orono question how Maine will makeup for this significant scoring loss.
